Our Team
Lisa Slater - Founder
Lisa began her career in the audit practice of PriceWaterhouse Coopers. After that, she worked in FP&A at Levi Strauss & Co, Gymboree and a mid sized ed tech firm that is now part of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. She was on the faculty of the School of Accounting at Golden Gate University before joining KongBasile Consulting (KBC). At KBC she focused on start ups including Uber ATG, EquityZen, Nano Precision Technology, and Rocksbox. Lisa is a Certified Management Accountant and has a Masters in Accounting from GGU and a MA in Economics from University of St. Andrews, UK. She lives in Berkeley with her 2 young children.
Carly Baum - Sr. Manager
Carly has over 7 years experience, most recently at Morphe and Moss Adams LLP. She began her career at KPMG. She has a wealth of tech experience on both the corporate and audit sides. She is a CPA and has a BS in Accounting from San Jose State University. She lives in San Francisco with her husband.
Lindsey Tang - Sr. Accounting Consultant
Lindsey has over 3 years experience in accounting consulting. She has a MBA with a concentration in Accounting from UC Riverside. Lindsey lives in San Mateo with her husband.
Our Story
Three Butterflies is inspired by Lisa's grandmother who was a book keeper. As a young woman who grew up in London at the turn of the 20th Century, she didn't have opportunities to fully realize her career potential. Fast forward to the 3rd generation, we dedicate this company to her memory.
Lisa has been instrumental in not just managing our books, but also plotting our financial future and driving investor communication.
Most importantly, she took the time to understand our business and tailor her efforts to our stage, product, and situation. I would recommend her firm to any Silicon Valley start up looking to punch above its weight in fiscal mastery with minimal stress, high confidence - and fair pricing.
