Lisa Slater

Lisa is a Big 4 accounting and finance professional. She was the first internal finance hire at Eko, a series D health tech startup. Her experience spans public and private company roles, including Levi Strauss & Co, Gymboree, and startup consulting at Kong Basile Consulting. She began her career at PriceWaterhouse Coopers LLP. She founded Three Butterflies Consulting (3B) in 2018. Lisa has a Masters in Accounting from Golden Gate University, a MA in Economics from University of St. Andrews, UK, and a Certificate in Sustainable Business Strategy from Harvard Business School Online. She is a CMA. She enjoys yoga, running, literature, travel, and spending time with her family.

Director of Accounting

Calvin DiFalco

Calvin is a Big 4 CPA. He joined Three Butterflies Consulting (3B) following a successful career in corporate finance, where he served as Controller and Director of Finance/Accounting at various stage startups backed by venture and private equity funding. He has experience across several industries including health care technology, security technology, manufacturing, distribution, and professional services.  He began his career at Ernst & Young.

Calvin has a Master of Accountancy from Golden Gate University and a BA from UC Berkeley. Outside of working with clients, Calvin enjoys coaching his son’s Little League baseball team, traveling, and running.

Manager, Accounting

Cheryl Morel

Cheryl has deep expertise with accounting and financial operations for early stage startups. Her work experience includes corporate accounting roles at Kentik Technologies, Prism Skylabs, and Symphony Commerce, where she helped them scale efficiently with confidence in their financials. Her passion is to implement streamlined close processes and optimize systems.  By applying her knowledge of the the startup tech stack, including Quickbooks, Xero, Salesforce, Carta, Divvy, and BILL, she is a collaborative partner for fast-growing companies seeking financial clarity and operational excellence. Cheryl has a BS in Economics and Business Administration from Saint Mary's College. Outside of work, Cheryl loves spending time with her family, gardening, running, and listening to comedy podcasts.

Lindsey Tang

Lindsey is an experienced accounting consultant. She was the first team member to join Three Butterflies Consulting (3B) and has deep experience with our clients. She has a MBA with concentration in Accounting from UC Riverside. Outside of work, Lindsey enjoys travelling and going to the gym.

Accounting Intern

Sofia Slater Loza

Starting in Summer of 2025. Sofia attends Berkeley High School and is in the International Baccalaureate and advanced math programs. She is a student athlete and is on the basketball, field hockey and lacrosse teams. Her goal is to attend a top university to study business and accounting, then become a CPA / CMA. Outside of school she enjoys spending time with family and friends, travelling, and is an avid reader.

Steve Stein

Steve joined Three Butterflies Consulting (3B) after a career in corporate finance roles at both public (Informatica, Okta) and venture funded SaaS companies (Trifacta, Kentik) . As a former head-of-finance, Steve brings experience in working directly with founders and scaling from inception. Public company experience includes board level reporting, monthly close analysis and M&A due diligence. Steve's client focus for 3B covers all forms of reporting, modeling, budgeting/forecasting and systems implementation. Steve has a BS degree from CSU Chico and a MBA from Santa Clara University. Before that Steve served in the U.S. Air Force. Outside of working with clients, Steve is an avid cyclist and trail runner.

Sweta Patel

Sweta is a dynamic accounting professional who began her career at global technology companies including Eat24, Yelp, and Fronteo before joining Three Butterflies Consulting (3B). At work, she focuses on leading the close process across multiple clients, with specific areas of expertise in revenue, payroll, and leases. Sweta has a BS in Accounting and Finance from India and has Master's in Accounting from Golden Gate University. Outside of work, Sweta enjoys family time, traveling and listening to podcasts.

Sislin Mendez Chavez

Sislin is an experienced accountant in corporate and tax accounting. A graduate of Santa Clara University. She is proficient in a variety of accounting software and known for her precision and reliability. Outside work, she enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures.

Gracie Diaz

Gracie is studying Business Adminstatration and Economics at the University of California Berkeley. She joined Three Butterflies Consulting (3B) in 2024, focused on supporting the monthly close process. She is currently involved with Berkeley Women in Business and Berkeley's Women on Wall Street organization. Outside of 3B, she started Graciela Diaz Photography in Spring of 2023. Gracie also enjoys photography, swimming, waterpolo, watching women's basketball, yoga, and crocheting.

Accounting Intern

Jack Wilson

Jack is a rising sophmore at the University of California, Los Angeles, who is majoring in Business Economics, and planning to minor in history. He joined Three Butterflies Consulting (3B) in June 2025. At UCLA, Jack is in the Bruin Investment Trading Club, where he hones his accounting and other technical skills to prepare for an eventually career in consulting or finance. His goal is to work on Wall Street one day. When he's not in school, Jack enjoys trading stocks, playing golf, reading, and watching football.
